Hello all! It's me, DB! Welcome to my new blog! In this blog, I will be talking about things that make me MAD! Things that make me angry and, well, want to RANT! Things like bad movies, horrible sports plays and tragic events that have happened in the news.
This is about one of the latter. It seems that terrorism has struck all over Europe this past year or so! People in France, England and Germany have had to deal with attacks of every shape and size, especially in their cities!
One of these attacks was made just this past week in Spain, where attackers took a van and plowed it through the popular shopping area known as Las Ramblas in Barcelona. These attackers killed 13 people, including 1 American and injured over 100! To me, that's just wrong! My heart and condolences go out to the families and friends of all the victims of this attack! These victims were just innocent people going to shop!
According to CNN, ISIS claimed the attack on their media sites, but they did not present any evidence to justify that claim. To me, ISIS is a bad, bad group. They kidnap people and smuggle items just for money (according to The Guardian)! To me, that too is wrong! They have been on a killing spree around the world as of late! According to CNN, ISIS has killed more than 2,000 people across more than 140 countries, including here in the US! To me, ISIS is like the real world version of HYDRA from the Marvel Comic books. (Don't worry. I know ISIS is real and HYDRA is fake). Both groups are bad because
This is a terrorist group that beheads people on camera! Not just soldiers, but civilians that they have kidnapped and were holding for ransom too! WHY? According to Wikipedia, they promote religious violence and deem Muslims who do not agree with their ways "infidels". Ok, here's another problem. It's not nice to call people names! To me, if you are a person that doesn't want to follow certain ways, then you don't have to. It's your decision! If you're a Muslim, for example, but you don't want to follow certain ways, then you don't have too!
Ok, so here's what I think about terrorism. IT'S WRONG! Why would terrorists want to go out and kill innocent people? Killing people is wrong! You want to know something that's really sad about terrorism? These terrorists kill kids too! Take the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings for example! The youngest victim, Martin Richard, was under 10 years old! He had his whole life ahead of him and a terrorist took it away! That is a very, very sad thing to see happen!
Remember 9/11? I certainly do! I know it's been almost 16 years since that day, but I still remember it like it was yesterday! 2,977 innocent souls were lost because of terrorism! Once again, the people that were killed were just doing what they had to do during that day! These people were just doing their jobs at the World Trade Center in NY and The Pentagon at Washington, DC. Let's not forget the folks that were on that plane that was hijacked after the attacks at the WTC and Pentagon. To me, the folks who stopped the hijackers are heroes, as are the emergency response crews that were called to the scenes in both New York and Washington, DC!
So I say it's time to stop the terrorism once and for all! Terrorism is taking away too many innocent lives! That needs to stop and it needs to stop right now! These people whose lives were taken by terrorism had families. They had friends, sons, daughters, nephews, nieces, fathers, mothers, boyfriends, girlfriends and so on.
My heart and condolences go out to all those families, including those who just recently lost a loved one due to terrorism in Spain, England and Germany.
The English had to deal with multiple attacks over the past year! Also, the folks in Berlin in Germany dealt with an explosion at one of their airports. Both these countries have suffered tremendous losses thanks to those attacks! That's why I say enough is enough!
It's time to stop the terrorism!
